Our Chocolate Labrador, Oiler, is 10 days post-surgery to remove his spleen for a bleeding Hemangiosarcoma tumor. The diagnosis blindsided us, a complete surprise, because Oiler, who is still quite handsome, is also very young and otherwise healthy for his 12 1 years of age. He was out enjoying a walk in the park the day before.

I am a retired Echocardiographer and Vascular Sonographer, now on a fixed Social Security disability income, and my husband is a postal carrier for the struggling U.S. Postal Service. Our expenses are mounting on credit cards, and after this surgery, the cost of Chemotherapy for Oiler is prohibitive at this point - especially given its benefits and prognosis. The teaching hospital is not in our town, and I do not feel comfortable driving there alone, especilaly as winter is upon us.
So the articles all over the Internet about coriolus versicolor PSP extending life in canine Hemagiosarcoma seems like a miracle. However, your customer service helped us estimate dosage for his weight, and the bottle we ordered apparently will last him only 6 DAYS. So we desperately need options! Oiler weighs approximately 88-90 lbs.
Honestly, we are writing with the hope of finding financial help, a discounted program for I'm-Yunity®, even perhaps a cheaper alternative brand suggestion, or options in any form, so Oiler can receive this potential life extending medical treatment. He is the first dog I ever personally trained in assistive techniques [though he really trained himself]. I have fallen and injured myself multiple times; and Oiler is a master at helping me by smoothly pulling me up from a supine or seated position when I need it, among other assistive balance and support maneuvers he is still eager to perform. He is one of the loves of my life and I am so heartbroken
Update, Jan 11, 2013
Oiler is still doing quite well. He gets fed smaller, pureed meals with his vitamins and I'm-Yunity; plus we've used Yunnan Baiyao to help against any bleeds. Besides seeing his regular Vet, and besides his emergency spleenectomy at KState Veterinary Hospital, we took him to a well known Holistic Vet in the area who also practices Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine. She helped me with some ideas for a more "cooling" diet for cancer. [Surprisingly, cooked daikon radish, among other ingredients, actually tastes good and Oiler likes it.] But Oiler loves to walk and he gets on the treadmill. He is beloved, cherished and still Top Dog in this household.
So thank you for your help reordering I'm Yunity. I believe Oiler recognizes it helps him because he doesn't reject it like he does many things. He didn't earn the nickname Spoily Oiley for nothing!
Best regards,
KC and Larry Vantyl, Oiler and the 'boys'.
